Hello! My name is Anne Aldridge-Baligian and I am the founder of Ocean State House Cleaning. In the fall of 1998 I started Ocean State House Cleaning with nothing more than some cleaning supplies, an old Volvo station wagon and a handful of flyers. I had suddenly found myself a single mother to 4 small children ages 2 to 7 years old. I had no business experience to speak of, but I did have a passion for helping others along with a passion for keeping my own house spic and span (even with 4 little kids). I had worked for a franchised maid service as a teenager back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. I felt the experience I had gained from that job, along with my desire to help other families, was a good catalyst into the house cleaning industry.

I hired my first employee in early 2000 and by 2001 the business had grown enough that I felt some higher education in business was in order. In 2001 I returned to school, starting off at CCRI and ending at Rhode Island College with a B.S in accounting. I spent a year working as a staff accountant for a local CPA firm before deciding that I wanted to concentrate on growing my business. By 2009 the business had grown too large to continue to operate from my home. I officially moved the business out of my home office and into commercial office space in Warwick, RI. We are still operating from that same office 11 years later in 2020.

All 4 of my children, along with my nephew, have worked for the company at one point or another learning how to clean professionally as teenagers. Currently, two of my adult daughters (Amanda and Allison) and my nephew (Matthew) help me operate the business by managing our cleaning staff and customer service. It has brought me a lot of joy to watch my children grow up to have them working side by side with me to manage the business I started when they were very small.

As with any endeavor worth pursuing, there have been ups and downs with the business over the last 21 years. I have tried to learn from each and every experience (good and bad) and put those lessons to use to improve my business and the services offered to my clients. My staff and I are truly dedicated to making sure all our clients are happy with the services we provide.
